A glimpse of the glorious past
President's College which is situated in Anuradhapura district was established in the 2nd of September 1957, with the patronage of Venerable Ralapanawewa Darmalankara Thero. This school has a long history. In 1953 a Rural Development Society was established by the people in the area and a temporary school was started with 15 students in that Committee Meeting Hall. It is developed under the Zonal Education Office Anuradhapura.
This school was started as a primary school and it is being developed with physical and human resources day by day as a Navodya School which imports the knowledge to the children of this area in a very effective manner.
At present, this school is a senior secondary school which belongs to 6 - 13 Grades. Moreover this school has won the Productivity Award twice.
Today President's College is reaching is continuously reaching its targets in the aspect of development, facing all the challenges bravely with indispensable service rendered by the teachers and also many national level awards have been won by the students of this school.
